NPI ENGINEERS - CONTRACT. 12 Months+.

Ref: M3707. Rates Negotiable. Cambridge.

We are looking for 2 NPI Engineers: one to work with test equipment; one to work with capital equipment.

NPI TEST:

The manufacturing product test strategy is an essential element of ensuring that our products meet the rigorous standards our customers have come to expect. You will be responsible for working with R&D on new ranges to specify suitable tests and set-up processes that can be applied to each product in stages of the manufacturing process to ensure specification. Focus shall be on early and reliable fault detection, avoidance of test replication, and a 'no fault forward' philosophy while developing and implementing core quality tools such as PFMEA and Process Control Methodology where applicable. You will be required to manage the provision of high quality, repeatable 'state of the art' test equipment from concept to handover to manufacturing

You will have had previous experience of developing semi-automated and automated capital equipment or test equipment involving mechanical and fluidic interaction as well as electronics. You will have an understanding of the compliance requirements including CE marking, ATEX and the Machinery Directive. Above all you will be a manufacturing professional that is committed to delivering a highly professional solution fit for a 'best in class' factory environment.

NPI - CAPITAL EQUIPMENT:

You are likely to be a high calibre Manufacturing Engineer with experience of specifying and procuring automated and semi-automated capital equipment. You will be responsible for defining and procuring customised handling, programming and labelling equipment from concept to handover. The equipment will support error detection and will interface with IT systems for the acquisition of relevant programming data.  In some cases the equipment will be semi-automated, requiring operator load and unload and in some cases the equipment will be required to integrate with existing or future proposed handling systems. The equipment will be required to be of a standard that befits 'best in class' manufacturing, meeting demanding OEE targets and with a professional operator interface.

You will have had previous experience of developing semi-automated and automated capital equipment with strong project and supplier management skills. You will be required to deliver what is necessary to ensure 'best in class' ease of use by our operators and have a structured approach to ensuring appropriate user interfaces. You will have an understanding of the compliance requirements including CE marking, ATEX and the Machinery Directive. Knowledge of OEE will be essential.
