Experience of FMEA, HAZOP, DFMEA and other design and risk analysis techniquesv   

To support the development of complex gas management systems in order to improve the reliability of sub assemblies for NPI – new product introduction, as well as support component obsolescence and fault investigations on released products.

Requirements

Product design and development.  Direction and development of junior engineers.
Coordination of design activities on larger projects in assistance to the Project Manager.
Design ownership of modules of large projects and reporting on progress to the Project Manager.
Design calculations in support of design (hand and FEA). Type testing of equipment and subsystems.
Writing reports.  Preparation of technical construction documents.
Interpretation and delivery of customer specifications.  Creation of Bill of Materials.
Development of test specifications. Specification of equipment sub systems.
Components selection.  Engineering Change.  Support to manufacturing.

Good Mechanically biased Engineering degree or other engineering qualification depending on experience.

Skills

CAD - SolidWorks or/and Inventor for 3D modelling and an element of design drafting.
Experience of working on a system or equipment design / development environment preferred and a good understanding of the interaction of Electrical and Software elements within the design activities.
Ability to perform engineering calculations and basic FEA in support of the design.
Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation diagrams and system schematics
Experience of FMEA, HAZOP, DFMEA and other design and risk analysis techniques
Experience in the type testing of equipment in support of design.  Value engineering.
Knowledge of CE marking and EN standards (Machinery and Low Voltage directives desirable)
Knowledge or BS EN 8888. Experience of managing elements of larger projects in support of a Project Manager.  Used to working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Attention to detail and right first time approach.  Good written and oral communication.
Ability to plan and estimate duration of their work in the context of larger projects
Understand key project deliverable and requirements and have the ability to report concisely to the project leader.
