Development Technician      Salary : £24-26k + bonus

Excellent workshop skills are required to provide services for the research and development for gas management systems in Clevedon.

A high level of skill, and recent experience, is required on manually operated machine tools (not CNC). Welding skills would be an advantage. Skills should also include fitting (for high-purity pipework for gas, vacuum, and liquids) and electrical work. Experience of working in an R&D laboratory environment would be an advantage.

The candidate should be self-motivated and self-organised to manage workload; able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings; understand and interpret scientists' requirements for equipment, and advise on construction methods.

The role will report to the Laboratory Manager and supports a team of 12 scientists.

The candidate should have HNC or equivalent qualification, and preferably will have completed a relevant apprenticeship.
