Manager Distribution and Agents Network – Vacuum instrumentation – HV & UHV

Locations:   Eastbourne,  East Sussex, UK (Head office) or work remotely from mainland Europe/elsewhere in UK

Salary circa £40-45k

Location UK preferred (near Eastbourne if possible), would consider other UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.

Experience – min 3-5 years managing distribution network, experience in UHV preferred but essential in medical/scientific precision instruments industry, languages a bonus

Expectations – role is global with travel fairly split between US, Europe and Asia – expectation 50% of time traveling with customers and agents, 10% time in the UK at Head Office and rest from home

(if they are not located locally).  Initially will need to spend more time at Head Office depending on knowledge and experience.

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager Distribution and Agents Network is required to drive profitable business growth.  The responsibility of the role is to increase the network and profitable sales.

This is being achieved by developing a business relationship with key customers like synchrotrons and building a high performing network of distributors and agents. 

The product portfolio included high end vacuum components, chambers and services for university, government and private research institutes.

The distributors need to be kept focused on the product line with regular interaction in person, at customers and during congresses, as well as reviewing projects and opportunities on a regular basis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop maintain and grow min 6 additional distributors per year and grow the business according by setting/agreeing on targets and measuring the performance of the agent/distributor.

Increase the brand recognition with customers in cooperation with the marketing team.

Increase RFQs received and conversion of quotes. Participate at min 12 conferences with distributors/agents.

Run 6 product/application/customer group campaigns per year.

Establish close relationships with key opinion leaders in the synchrotrons and academic network.

Provide contend for marketing campaigns. Provide Market Intelligence for business NPI (New Product Introduction) process.  Negotiating and Closing Sales

 ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The essential skills/experience required for this role are:

Min 5 years experience in a commercial role managing distributors. Fluent English is required, other languages desirable.

Able, used to and embracing frequent travel with customer interaction. High energy and commercial drive.

 DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Practical experience in the field of scientific equipment. Any additional language skills should be highlighted

Desirable Qualifications: Master in Sciences or Business (Bachelor with relevant professional experience will be considered)

Full active international drivers licence.
