Senior Development Engineer - Shoreham

Structured approach to product development – utilising FMEA, test plans, iterative design, safety reviews  etc

• Experience of test and development
• Knowledge of manufacturing / assembly methods and experience of working with production engineering – metal cutting and machining
• Dynamics of rotating machinery  

Senior Development Engineer with responsibility for autonomously and proactively completing verification and validation work packages in an NPI team working on high speed rotating mechanical equipment.  Responsible for managing a small team of DEvelopment Engineers. 

Design/verification/qualification of engineering concepts, writing reports, FMEA – failure mode effect analysis, thermal evaluation, safety reviews.

Required to create and run test programmes to identify and mitigate risks and identify and resolve performance, thermal and system configuration challenges.
Capable of identifying and developing new design concepts to improve product capabilities or to meet performance specifications
Skill and Experience
Working knowledge of risk identification and management processes (FMEAs etc)
Able to work with limited supervision, proactively working with peers and functional managers to ensure on time delivery of tasks.
Able to create test specifications based on existing designs and performance parameters
Capable of analysing test results and presenting data in an organised fashion
IT literate Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Verbal communication at all levels
Experience in rotating machinery design
Experience with temperature management and cooling systems
Experience with development programmes in a stage gate controlled development environment
Qualifications
Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent demonstrable skill based learning and 10 years experience working within a Technical Development Engineering role.
