CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator – 3, 4 & 5 axis cnc milling                               Bucks.

CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator: for 3 & 4 axis Matsuura , Hass (Fanuc controls) and 5 axis Nakamura Turn/mills using NT smart X Pro controls. Desirable skills in offline Programming and verification software SolidCAM and Varicut.

This role is designed for individuals to further develop their milling skills in advanced CNC machining across diverse materials, including aerospace-grade alloys titanium and Inconel, focusing on innovation and efficiency. The candidate will extend their existing expertise in milling, with turn mill and gear cutting techniques such as Hobbing, shaping, and power skiving as well automation bar feed, robot loading and unloading and parts extraction.

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set, and operate the Matsuura, Hass 3 /4 axis and Nakamura multi axis mill 5 axis cnc machines, ensuring precision in machining and adherence to specifications.

Utilise CAD/CAM / Verification software for offline programming and optimise machining processes through simulation and verification software.

Innovate and implement one-hit machining methods to enhance production efficiency and quality.

Collaboratively develop and refine machining strategies, tool paths, and work holding solutions with engineering teams to minimise cycle times and maximise output.

Manage tooling logistics, including setup, calibration, and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Adapt machining tactics for varying production volumes, focusing on both low volume bespoke components and medium batch production.

Spearhead initiatives for unmanned and lights-out manufacturing, leveraging automation technologies like robotic arms and automated bar feeders.

Ensure consistent quality control through rigorous inspection and process adjustments.

 

Ideal Additional Skills

Understanding of material properties and appropriate machining strategies for Aerospace alloys. Precision Measurement and Metrology: Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.

Statistical Process Control (SPC): Knowledge of SPC techniques to monitor and control machining processes, ensuring consistent and high-quality outputs.

Lean Manufacturing Principles: Familiarity with lean practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste in manufacturing processes.

Quality Assurance Protocols: Ability to implement and maintain stringent quality assurance protocols to meet industry standards and customer expectations.

 

Role Requirements:

Minium of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering discipline, with hands-on experience in CNC machining lathe and milling being highly advantageous.

Certifications in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, or related fields desirable.

Hours of work:

  •                      Late Shift: Monday-Thursday 14.00pm-00.15pm, 30-minute unpaid break- 39-hour week
  •                      Weekend shift also available rates TBA
  •                      Flexible shift also available
  •                      Plenty of Overtime and OT rates are available.
