Cloud Solution Architect         £70k + 10% + benefits    London (The Gherkin) OR South coast of East Sussex + home working

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, the primary purpose of the role of Cloud Solution Architect is to define, maintain and ensure the integrity and consistency of end to end technology solutions in order to deliver the technology strategy and ensure alignment to enterprise architecture, policies and standards. The individual will be a subject matter expert in private, public and hybrid Cloud architectures and implementations.

Accountabilities

? Provide proactive technology solution support in the analysis, design, planning, and implementation across all Cloud solutions

? Technical lead for the delivery of Cloud architectures; IaaS, PaaS & SaaS, Private, Public and Hybrid cloud platforms and

virtualisation technologies

? Maintains knowledge of Cloud architecture, standards and practices and consistently applies this to the technology environment

? Determine and create solution architectures and designs to effectively meet requirements and costs while maintaining the integrity of the technology strategy and enterprise architecture roadmap and standards

? Undertake analysis of technology solution options and associated costs and risks

? Conduct gap analysis, and proof of concepts for new solutions, as appropriate

? Identify issues and risks and lead their resolution as required

? Clearly communicate solution designs, key design decisions and approaches to interested parties, stakeholders, project bodies and relevant governance / assurance forums including the Technical Design Authority (TDA)

? Oversee solution development including hands-on implementation engagement as needed

? Apply knowledge of technology options and survey external market landscape for solution insights, direction, and vendors, as required

? Ensure design efforts are aligned with and driven to deliver business value, strategy and goals, within cost constraints

? Provide input into project and resource plans and support the producing business cases

? Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in the strategic application of technology

Skills Knowledge & Experience

• 5 years experience as an Cloud Solutions Architect

• 10 years experience of design and implementation of virtualised; compute, network, storage solutions and technologies

• Strong expertise in AWS, Azure or GCP, VMware, Nutanix, and Cloud Network technology stacks

• Proven demonstrable experience and knowledge of supporting datacentre migrations and transforming legacy solutions to the cloud

• Proven demonstrable knowledge of designing, implementing and running Private (e.g. VMware, Nutanix) and Public Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) technologies supporting a hybrid cloud strategy

• Excellent technical knowledge of cloud: security, performance, resilience (designing for failure) and availability required to support an enterprise hybrid cloud architecture

• Strong technical knowledge of: Cloud Adoption Framework(s), Cloud architecture design patterns, best practices and

standards

• Strong technical understanding of identity broker systems – Active Directory , ADFS, Azure AD

• Working knowledge of; Software Defined DataCentre, Serverless, MicroServices and container-based systems (Docker,

Kubernetes)

• Working knowledge of DevOps tools, automation and methodologies used to deploy solutions within a cloud platform

(Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible etc.)

• Strong understanding of broader Data Centre technologies (Server, Storage, Server Virtualisation and Cloud etc.)

• Knowledge of architecture frameworks and methods such as TOGAF and the ability to develop and maintain personal

architectural knowledge, skills and abilities

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

• Relevant AWS, Azure or GCP Accreditations: Azure Architect Technologies, Azure Architect Design, AWS certified Professional,

AWS certified Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Architect

• Relevant VMware Accreditations: VCP, VCAP, VCDX

• Relevant Nutanix Accreditations: Nutanix Platform Expert (NPX)

• TOGAF or equivalent certification desirable
