CAM Programming Manufacturing Engineer  - CAM Programmer
A well-established manufacturer and renowned experts in precision machining, bonding and finishing engineering grade plastics, especially Acrylic. They supply global, blue-chip customers in industries including life sciences, medical devices and industrial applications with solutions including fluidic manifolds and optical components. They have a significant growth programme supported by a pipeline of business expansion with new and existing clients.

Looking for an experienced Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programmer to translate customer drawings and CAD files into CNC machine programmes and plans. You will have a deep understanding of how to approach the machining, including milling and turning on a wide variety of machine tools including 4+1 axis machines. As well as generating the CAM programme, you will also be specifying both standard tools and bespoke form tools to ensure the part is produced to the required quality with optimised efficiency. They work with both EdgeCAM and Autodesk HSM CAM software, but are migrating to HSM for the future.
You will liaise with QA to ensure the part can be suitably measured and controlled with various tools such as gauges and a CMM. You will be working with a skilled and supportive team, with many years’ experience. You will also liaise with customers to help critique designs for manufacturability of parts and provide support and suggestions as required.
Essential Skills
? Apprenticeship or technical qualification such as an HNC/HND, City & Guilds or Degree
? In-depth knowledge of Autodesk HSM or EdgeCam software
? Minimum 5 years direct experience in a CNC machinist or programming role
? Familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens controllers
? Solid understanding of both CNC Milling and turning
? Ability to thoroughly read and understand engineering drawings
? Practical, hands-on engineering skills
